Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this chrome locking L-shape handle. This locking L-shape handle is going to replace a broken or damaged handle on your truck cap or camper shell. And as you can see here, two keyed alike keys are included. These are single-sided number 751 keys.
And let me go ahead and just give you a brief demonstration. As you can see my handle is unlocked. I'm gonna go ahead and insert the key, then that locks the handle. So very easy, smooth operation, and again it comes with these two keys and now we're unlocked. So this features a die-cast steel construction.
So this is durable, it's built to last, and this really nice chrome finish is going to help resist corrosion and rust. And let me go ahead and give you some measurements so you kind of have an idea of the size of this and you can be confident that this is going to work for you. So let me begin by giving you the overall length, and I'm gonna try to measure from the end of the base all the way to the end of our handle. Let's see if I can line that up for you. So as you can see, we are sitting right at about 5 1/4 inches with that overall length.
And then measuring the length of the handle, I'm gonna measure from the middle of the handle all the way to the end of the handle, and we are sitting right at 4 inches long on that handle length. And then the overall depth, so I'm gonna be measuring from the outermost part of the handle all the way to the end of our pin. Line that up so you can see that better. We're sitting a little over I'm gonna say 6 1/4 inches about the overall depth, and then the handle base, I'm calling this the handle base here. Let's see if I can line that up here for you.
Looks like we're sitting at right about 2 1/2 inches long. And then the width right at about an inch and a quarter, maybe a little bit more than that. It's kind of hard to give you the most accurate measurement with the the pin sticking out there. And then the distance between the mounting hole center to center, we are sitting right at looks like about 1 3/4 inches center to center. And then the pin length, we're sitting at 4 inches. And then the width of the thickness of that pin, about 5/16 of an inch. Hopefully you can see that. So hopefully those are the measurements that are gonna prove helpful for you. Great product. Should work on many older cars. Old original door handles have many problems. The old locks are a big problem. These handles solved all my problems.

I used the locking handle on plexiglass windows which were fabricated to fit my race car and protect the interior when on the trailer. The handles worked perfectly, latching against the inside of the door frame and being lockable for added security.

The service and follow-up from the folks at etrailer has been excellent. The products I purchased were also excellent, with the exception of not having the handles lefts and rights, but that situation is unique for me only ( perhaps.) I am applying the handles to an old truck, each handle on opposite sides.

I use it on the wheelchair lift door of my minibus it works fine.
They work great - I used them to replace door handles on my street rod that did not lock.
A few years ago I bought two of these handles to replace two out of four handles on my snowmobile trailer. Those are still working perfectly fine with no issues. I just bought two more to replace the other two old handles (one broke) and I don't anticipate any issues with the new handles.
